According to the Puranas, in the Kali Yuga, liberation may only be attained by memory. Hearing, chanting, reflecting on the Lord’s deeds, praising the Lord, prostrating before Him, saluting Him, being obedient to the Lord, having compassion for the Lord, and ultimately submitting to the Lord is crucial for new devotees. Among these, Namasmarana is quite significant. These commemorative bhajans are held at the temples in accordance with the Agamas, which are the foundation of temple tradition, in order to elevate devotees’ spirituality and give them a taste of transcendental pleasure.
