Lord Mayor of London visits Hyderabad to strengthen UK – India Partnership in Fintech and Cyber security

Hyderabad, 18th September 2019: The Cyber security Center of Excellence, Telangana in collaboration with the City of London Corporation hosted UK-India Fintech & Cyber security Forum at T-Hub, Hyderabad. The Lord Mayor The Rt. Hon. Alderman Peter Estlin, City of London along with a UK delegation of Fintech Cyber security companies were in the city to boost India-UK ties in cyber security and fintech.

This collaboration will catalyze Indian and UK organizations to expand their engagement and horizon of business to both countries. Lord Mayor of the City of London Peter Estlin said “I am delighted to be the first Lord Mayor in many years to visit India’s innovation city Hyderabad and look forward to exploring how we boost ties between the UK and India in areas including insurance, fintech and cyber.

As a businessman with long ties to India, I’ve seen with my own eyes the explosion of innovation in this amazing country, which now boasts over 20,000 start-ups- 3,000 alone in fintech. Hyderabad is one of the most exciting places in India to do business right now, and I can’t wait to see what more our two cities can do together.”

Speaking at the event, Dr. Sriram Birudavolu, CEO, Cyber security CoE said “The Cyber security CoE at Hyderabad is a nerve centre for international and domestic collaborations. We are happy to foster engagement among the UK and Indian government bodies, companies and academia.”

About Cyber security Centre of Excellence: The Cyber security Center of Excellence (CoE) is a joint initiative of the Government of Telangana and Data Security Council of India (DSCI) to accelerate the cyber security momentum and create a conducive cyber security ecosystem that nurtures innovation, entrepreneurship and capability building. CoE works with all industry organisations, government agencies, academia and R&D centers and user groups and collaborates with other industry bodies, incubators and accelerators to accomplish its mission.
